This course made us passionate about education and the engaging and effective materials that can be created to enhance language teaching and learning. Technology has impacted the learning and teaching process, but not all students and teachers have access to this technology. Panama is a country that has a lot of areas and schools that don't have any type of access to these technologies...so what can a teacher do in these cases? Well, that's what this blog is made for providing various tools to help teachers deliver their lessons and activities.

What did you learn in the ENG420 course?
First of all I want to mention that I am really glad and I feel thankful for being part of this course and for being able to learn so many things that will actually help me in my teaching journey, one of the most important things that I learned was the importance of selecting and utilizing appropriate instructional materials to enhance teaching and learning experiences. Everything can be material for our class as long as we add a teaching purpose to it, materials should be adaptable to different teaching contexts, learner levels, and instructional approaches. A range of materials can enhance learner engagement and cater to different learning preferences and needs. As future teachers we should be creative and being able to provide to our students the expected lessons, and thankfully we have a lot of options to do it, and that were explained during this semester, now I can say that I feel more prepared to get into this journey, confident about what I learned and how can I use all those materials to actually help my students achieve their learning needs.

What did you learn in the ENG420 course?
I learn that a teacher has to be creative; there are various situations in which we might not be able to access the internet or a computer and we have to find ways to take those lessons to our students. Like the saying goes "If there's a will, there's a way" and I'm glad I had the opportunity to be part of this course. It has been an "out-of-the-box" experience because we had to carefully craft the assignments for the various workshops.
Through this course, I got to learn the meaning of materials which are anything that has been given a pedagogical purpose. In simple ways, even a plant can be a material if we give it a pedagogical purpose. I would say that my favorite type of material was the board and hand puppets. The board because I learned about the "H" model and I really liked that approach with the board and the puppets because it was a shared experience with my classmates. We got to create our characters and share laughs in between. This course has been a very different experience, that is why I mentioned that it was an "out-of-the-box" experience because I stepped out of my comfort zone.

What did you learn in the ENG420 course?
I have learned many interesting things about the course. But one thing that makes me think too much about it is the fact that we as teachers have a great variety of materials that can help us and our students, to develop better environments of education, and it is a great opportunity for us to do different things that our teachers did with us. As we saw, materials give an opportunity to support our classes, and it is a tool that we have to use and develop in order to become better teachers.

insights and knowledge that have greatly enhanced my understanding of effective

What did you learn in the ENG420 course?
my experience in the course of creating teaching materials was an unforgettable adventure. It ignited my creativity, taught me that teaching can be done in different ways, and deepened my appreciation for the role of educators in shaping young minds. I came out of this experience with a sense of teaching with a purpose, ready to bring a different approach to my future lessons where I can make a positive impact on the education of my students.
